The Avant Art Festival, one of the cultural highlights in Wrocław every Autumn, gets underway on Wednesday September 23rd.
Into its thirteenth year, Avant Art promotes a diverse range of dynamic, creative musicians whose alternative and innovative attitudes seek to push the boundaries of music as we know it.
As always, the festival’s artists come from different ends of the musical spectrum, with genres like punk, industrial music and improvisational jazz all represented. There are some more conventional outfits on the bill though, including rock band Jesien, hip-hop artist 1988 and electro-pop duo Enchanted Hunters.
This year the organisers have focused on local talent in a bid to offer support to Polish artists, who, like others throughout the world, have gone through hard times since lockdown.
Gigs will take place at Impart and Stary Klasztor between September 28th and 29th.
