City Council To Vote On Major MPK Ticket Increase

On Thursday Wrocław City Council will vote to decide whether to implement a major increase in MPK ticket prices at the start of 2021.

If the council vote in favour of Jacek Sutryk’s proposal, the price of a single ticket will increase from 3.40zł to 4.60zł. A one week ticket will go up from 46zł to 54zł, while a month ticket will rise from 90zł to 110zł.

However, the good news for some Wrocławians is that long-term tickets, include the one month ticket mentioned above, will not increase for local taxpayers according to the plans. Those who are signed up for the city council’s ‘Nasz Wrocław 365‘ scheme will be able to buy their tickets at 2020 prices. To qualify for the scheme, you just need to pay your taxes here in Wrocław.

The city authorities say they have no option but to increase prices as income from ticket sales has nosedived since the start of the coronavirus crisis. The pandemic also comes at the same time MPK are spending huge sums of cash to build new lines to Popowice and Nowy Dwór.
