Wrocław City Council have announced plans for two more bus lanes, just days after the new bus lane on the east side of Podwale sparked fury among drivers.
According to tuwroclaw.com, next month a dedicated bus lane will be in place on a 400-metre stretch of of Borowska street, between Śliczna street to Wieczysta street. A 1,300 metre long bus lane will also come to Krzywoustego street.
The City Council argue that the bus lanes are required in order for public transport to avoid traffic jams. They also claim that the bus lanes are what the city’s inhabitants want.
However a number of drivers are up in arms over the changes. The new bus lane that came to Podwale last week has been slammed for making the traffic situation for drivers worse. A tuwroclaw.com poll on the Podwale bus lane also found that almost 58% are against it.
The decision has nonetheless benefited MPK passengers, who are understandably happy to see their journey times shortened.
The city say that they are monitoring the effect of the bus lanes and will make changes if deemed necessary.
