New Scheme Brings Italian Police Officers To Wrocław

Italian police officers are currently patrolling Wrocław thanks to a new programme that’s bringing police departments from Italy and Poland together.

The Italian officers made their debut on Wrocław’s streets last Wednesday. Italian police bosses hope that the cooperation will provide their staff with useful knowledge and experience that can be used to better the way they operate.

According to Sergeant Dariusz Rajski, the main role for the Italian police officers is to assist foreign residents and tourists in Wrocław.

The Italian officers are joined on their patrols by members of Wrocław’s local police force, both of whom aim to educate tourists on potential threats and local laws foreigners often fall foul of.

The international patrols are operating on the Rynek, around Ostrów Tumski and Wyspa Słodowa as well as Wrocław Airport.
