‘Tram Of Freedom’ Hits Wrocław’s Tram Tracks

A special ‘Tram of Freedom’ will move around Wrocław in the coming weeks as part celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Poland’s 1st election after communism. 

The aim of the tram is to educate and remind people of the journey the city and the country went through between 1945 and the present day.

The tram operates on the #4 line between Biskupin and Oporów, a route that takes in a number of historical sites in the city. It also stops at the History Depot on Grabiszyńska street.

The exterior of the vehicle is decorated with a timeline explaining important historical moments. Meanwhile inside the tram, screens display info on the formation on the Solidarity movement as well as the events leading up the election on June 4th 1989.
