The Bistro at Wrocław’s arthouse cinema is undergoing a much-needed reboot that will see the introduction of a new menu focused on seasonal ingredients.
When Kino Nowe Horyzonty opened in the summer of 2012, its Bistro proved to be a handy spot to get some tasty salads, sandwiches and quesadillas at very reasonable prices.
Since then however, things have unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. Prices have steadily gone up, the quality has dropped slightly and disposal cutlery has been introduced. That has understandably seen more cinemagoers choose to dine at the various eateries nearby Kino Nowe Horyzonty.
Presumably this hasn’t gone unnoticed by the people running the cinema, as the Bistro is set for some pretty radical changes.
According to the Kino Nowe Horyzonty website, the Bistro’s new menu will have a “zero tolerance” policy on choosing local and seasonal ingredients in its dishes.
The new menu has been prepared in collaboration with Michał Czekajło, a well known local chef who works at Browar St Mostów. Michał is also the co-founder of Wrocław’s Food Think Tank, a culinary writer and a participant on Polsat’s Top Chef Tv Show.
In keeping with the city council’s drive to avoid single-use plastic, the cinema are also ditching plastic cutlery.
