Man Dies After Galeria Dominikańska Stabbing

Yesterday evening a man was killed after being stabbed in the food court of Wrocław’s Galeria Dominikańska shopping centre.

According to multiple reports, an argument between two men grew increasingly heated to the point that one of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed the other. The victim of the stabbing was resuscitated on the spot but could not be saved.

The attack reportedly sparked panic in the centre as shoppers and diners ran up the stairs or sprinted for the exit of the shopping mall.

The fatal incident occurred in the lower ground floor of Galeria Dominikanska in one of the fast-food restaurants. Gazeta Wrocławska report the stabbing took place in McDonald’s, while tuwroclaw.com state the two men were in KFC.

According to Gazeta Wrocławska, the attacker fled the shopping centre immediately but was tracked down minutes later thanks to the help of 3 witnesses. The police have also found a discarded knife believed to be the one used in the stabbing.

One of the witnesses quoted in Gazeta Wrocławska states that the two men argued for a moment before one of them stabbed the other in the neck.

It is thought that both the attacker and the victim are Turkish, although it must be stressed that this information is as yet unconfirmed.
