Wrocław’s President Adopts Cat Abandoned At The Bus Station

A cat that had been left abandoned at Wrocław Bus Station is now leading a new life in the office of Wrocław’s President

According to multiple newspaper reports, the cat was left by a Russian family who did not know Flixbus’ terms and conditions forbid the transportation of pets. Instead of re-booking their journey, the family just left the cat alone to fend for itself.

The cat was picked up by a staff member of the bus station and the story soon gained traction on social media.

Not long after news of abandoned cat hit the headlines, Wrocław President Jacek Sutryk announced that the cat would be safely housed in his office. A public competition for naming the cat has also been announced.

Meanwhile, the prosecutors office have been contacted about the incident. Should the person responsible for the cat be located and found guilty of deliberately abandoning the animal, he/she could be jailed for up to 3 years.
