Jazztopad 2018 Hits Wrocław This Friday

Having grown in stature after 14 years, the Jazztopad festival is once again set to decorate Wrocław’s National Forum of Music.

The first weekend will see jazz fans torn between choosing to take up the rare opportunity to listen to Chick Corea, or alternatively, Jaimie Branch, whose last album came at the top of almost everyone’s jazz album list in 2017.

The second part of the festival consists of numerous attractions that have been prepared especially for Jazztopad. These include premieres of works by artists like Brad Mehldau, Avishai Cohen and Amir ElSaffar, as well as the premiere of a composition from the Australian Art Orchestra. On top of that. legendary drummer Hamid Drake and Australian-Korean improvisation master Simon Barker will come together for a duet.

Esperanza Spalding, appearing in Wrocław for the first time, will perform a set prepared especially for Jazztopad during the finale of the festival.
