Iconic Wafer & Cream Tubes On Sale At New Food Truck

The classic PRL-era 'Rurki z kremem' are now back on sale

A popular Polish dessert from the 70s and 80s is now available again at a new retro-style food truck outside Pasaż Grunwaldzki.

Known as ‘Rurki z kremem’ (tubes with cream), the dessert is basically a wafer cylinder stuffed with whipped cream.

The PRL-era classic is being sold inside a specially renovated and adapted Citroen HY, a model that was first produced in 1975. The desserts were traditionally sold in booths, however bosses at Pasaż Grunwaldzki thought an old-school food truck would be more visually appealing.

The wafer & cream tubes cost 3.5zł and taste “exactly the way it was years ago” according to the food truck owners. The truck is open from Monday to Saturday between 9am-8pm, and on Sundays from 10am til 8pm.

Should the wafer & cream tubes not be to your liking, the food truck also sell ice cream from Polish Lody (the now famous ‘craft ice cream’ parlour on pl.Bema).
