Food Delivery Service Woopit Cease Operations

Food delivery company Woopit have ceased operations after 14 months on the market, presumably due to competition from UberEats.

The service appeared to get off to a good start last summer, with the company’s dark-green delivery bags a common sight on Wrocław’s streets.

However UberEats entered the fray this April and seem to have gained a very strong foothold in Poland’s home delivery market. This extra competition is likely to have hit Woopit hard.

In a statement on Woopit’s website, the company explained that it was their investor’s decision to call time on the business.

As a result of the decision of our strategic investor, who is the leader in deliveries in the Baltic States, we are forced to cease the operation of the Wooopit website in Poland.
