City Announce Beginners Crash Course For Foreign School Pupils

The Ukrainian Foundation and Wrocław City Council are organising beginners courses in Polish to help school pupils ahead of the upcoming semester.

The 20-hour elementary courses are to take place between August 20th and 24th as well as from August 27th to 31st. The cost of the 20-hour course is 75zł.

Between the 20-24th and 27-31th of August, the Ukraine Foundation, in co-operation with the Municipality of Wroclaw, invite you to apply for a pilot course dedicated to foreign pupils. The course aims to support children and youths studying at Wroclaw’s schools in Polish, so as to overcome language barriers and to facilitate integration.

During the course, participants will take part in lessons, language games as well as integration activities in order to take on the first steps at elementary level (A0/A1) Polish language (the working language of the course is English).

From Monday to Friday, for four hours a day in the Ukrainian Center of Culture and Development (CUKR), teachers will take care of children and youths, creating the conditions for further language education at Polish schools. The organisers will give preference to applicants due to start their education in Polish schools in the 2018/19 school year.

The classes will be conducted in the following age groups: 7–11 and 12–15, with 5 to 8 students in each group. One participant is allowed to take part in one course (lasting 20 hours). Course groups will be opened when the minimum amount of participants is reached.

The participation fee is 75 PLN and it also covers the cost of refreshments during the course.

The registration for the course is open until 13.08.2018 (Monday). Applications will be accepted after registration. You can find the registration form on the website of the Ukraine Foundation: www.fundacjaukraina.eu/kurs.

After registering, please deliver your signed statement to the Ukraine Foundation’s office in Wroclaw (ul. Ruska 46a/201, during working hours of the CUKR – Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 14:00 – 20:00; and Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10:00 – 14:00).
