One of Poland's most loved alternative artists, Czesław Śpiewa is a flambouyant accordion player and a graduate of the Royal Danish Academy.
Czesław's first 3 albums all sold incredibly well and his highly anticipated 4th LP is currently in the works.
Czesław Śpiewa's gigs are well known for having an exuberant mix of tango, pop, folk and avant-garde, all of which is propelled form the stage using a wide range of instruments.
Czesław is no stranger to large music festivals, however his concert in Vertigo offers the chance to enjoy his music in a much more intimate environment.
On June 15th, talented vocalist Kasia Berger will take to the stage to sing hits from the likes of Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Michael Jackson and AC/DC – all in a unique jazz-style arrangement. Later on in the evening, the Vertigo band will perform too.
The event is being held as part of the Rum-Love festival, so concert-goers will also have the chance to taste some amazing rum throughout the evening.
Stand-up comedy is another regular fixture at Vertigo, whether it be in English or Polish.
The latest stand-up gig sees comics from Ireland and Scotland come to Vertigo for a show that has received rave reviews at the renowned Edinburgh Festival. Gary Lynch, John O'Brien and Michael Porter are all established figures on the stand-up circuit and you can find out why here.
Wojtek Pilichowski is a respected Polish bass guitarist, composer and producer who has recorded 14 solo albums since 1994. One of his most recent releases is 2015's Electro Step album, which is billed as a revolutionary fusion of jazz and electro.
Over the years he has performed at the most important bass festivals worldwide, including Bass Player Live and Euro Bass Day. His talent as a bass guitarist has also helped him to take home the award of best Polish bass player no less than 16 times.
Vertigo's Cuban Latin Jazz Nights are a rarity on the Polish jazz scene. Each evening sees a talented multi-national band fuse jazz with Latin and Cuban rhythms.
Frontman Roland Abreu was born in Havana and lived there until he was 20. Now happily living in Poland, Roland seizes every opportunity to perform the music of his homeland.
