World Guitar Record Broken Again In Wroclaw!

A total of 7411 guitarists played Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe in unison on the Rynek yesterday, breaking the previous world guitar record set here in Wroclaw in 2016 by 55 people.

Yesterday's turnout was also well up on last year, when 'just' 6,299 people took part.

The annual Thanks Jimi Festival, which incorporates the world guitar record attempt, has become a popular May holiday tradition in Wroclaw – one that regularly attracts guitarists from all over the country and beyond. The event has now been running for 16 years.

Following the record attempt, a special guitar version of Poland's national anthem was played to celebrate 100 years of Poland's Indepdendence.
