Wrocław has enjoyed some comfortably mild weather in recent days, however the arrival of spring is still some way off.
According to Dr. Marek Błaś of Wrocław University's Climatology and Atmospheric Protection Department, temperatures will dip below zero over the weekend. He also states there is a possibility of snow showers on Sunday.
Numerous weather forecasts correlate with Błaś' comments, therefore it seems all but certain that Wrocław's recent spring-like weather will be short lived.
Fortunately this weekend's cold snap will also be brief. However long-term forecasts predict that temperatures will not be consistently over 15C° until the end of April.
Those who have lived in Wrocław for a number of years will be well aware there are often 'false starts' as far as spring is concerned. The images above were both taken in early 2015, when a April surprise snow-shower arrived weeks after flowers had began shooting up .
Just a few years ago snow fell during the Easter weekend, giving kids the chance to make 'snow rabbits'. In recent memory there has even been a brief snow shower as late as May the 3rd.
