Wrocław is to be the host of a huge international speedway event this summer.
The city's renovated Olympic Stadium will be the venue for the finals of the Monster Energy FIM Speedway of Nations on the 8th and 9th of June.
The event features 15 competing countries and will be staged during the FIM Speedway Grand Prix summer break.
According to the FIM, the competiton involves seven nations competing in two 'race off' events at separate locations on June 2nd and June 5th respectively. The top three countries from each will then join hosts Poland in the final.
When the competition gets underway it will be the first time a World Championship event has been decided over a pairs format since the 1998 World Team Cup.
Last year Wrocław's Olmpic Stadium hosted the Speedway events of the World Games, however the FIM Speedway of Nations is arguably even higher profile. Given the popularity of the sport in Poland, the event is likely to sell out fast once tickets go on sale.
