New Baseball Field Open In Zakrzów

Wrocław's baseball community finally have the facilities they crave after the completion of a new baseball field in the village of Zakrzów, located on the outskirts of Wrocław.

Following 15 years of attempts to attract funding for a new ball park, the Wrocław Barons Baseball Club were able to make their dreams become a reality when they recieved 12,000 votes for the project in an edition of Wrocław's civil budget programme.

The complex is equipped with 2 batting cages and 2 bullpens on each side, as well as an electronical score board. In 2018 a softball field will be added, together with floodlights for night matches.

The completion of the project is seen as a massive moment for baseball in Wrocław and the surrounding area, as the city had never had the facilities to compete prior to the construction of the new field. Now the Wrocław Barons can look forward to performing in the Polish baseball championship on their own turf.

As part of their plan to grow the sport in Wrocław, the Wrocław Barons are seeking someone with some coaching ability to join them to help train the new generation of Polish baseball players.
