A referee is set to lose his licence after he turned up at a youth level match in a completely drunken state.
Named as Henryka G in local media, the referee was given the task of officiating Sunday's youth level derby between Miedzi Legnica and Zagłębia Lubin at the Konfeks Stadium.
However the players and coaches at the match soon suspected the ref was drunk, and called the police so they could carry out a breathaliser test. Once the police conducted the test, they found the referee had 2.7 promiles of alcohol in his blood.
The referee was promptly fined by the police before being transported to Legnica's 'drunk tank', where individuals must pay a hefty fee for staying overnight while they sober-up.
The Lower Silesian Football Association are now investigating the incident are likely to revoke the referee's licence.
