Riverfront ‘Wro’ Sign Unveiled

Yesterday the city officially unveiled a new 'Wro' sign on the boulevard nearby Grunwaldzki bridge.

Last year Wroclaw City Council announced the construction of a large Wrocław sign and 3 designs were put forward for the public to vote on.

The 'Wro' design won the contest and the sign was officially unveiled on Bulwar Marii i Lecha Kaczyńskich yesterday. The other two proposals were a Wratislava sign to be located by Bastion Ceglarski and a sign for scaters in front of Stadion Wroclaw.

The idea to have a sign, which was proposed for the citizen's budget by Robert Gacek, is to use the sign as a place for locals and tourists to play around in and be photographed next to. The concept has already proved popular in other cities.
