Zwierzyniecka Bridge Closed Until November

Zwierzyniecka Bridge, which links up Grobli street to the back entrance of the zoo, was closed for repairs this morning and will not re-open until November.

The temporary closure of the bridge is bad news for those living in the area between the Odra and Oława rivers, who have long used the pedestrian bridge as a shortcut to attractions such as Wrocław Zoo, Hala Stulecia, the Japanese Gardens and the multimedia fountain.

Over the next 4 months the 40-year-old bridge, which is 240m long, will have its railings and footsteps replaced amongst other improvements.

The work is expected to be finished by October 31st and the newly renovated bridge should be open the next day.
