Budget airline Wizzair have announced the start of flights between Wroclaw and the Ukrainian city of Lviv.
The maiden flight will take place on Thursday April the 13th and tickets are already on sale. Prices start from 99zl, however most flights are currently advertised at 209zl.
After the maiden journey the flights will take place twice a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flights from Wroclaw depart at 12.00 on both days, while take-off for the return journeys is at 14.45. The flight time is one hour and 15 minutes.
The news will most certainly be welcomed by the growing Ukranian community in Wroclaw, who now have access to direct flights to both Kiev and Lviv.
Lviv and Wroclaw do of course also have close historical links; following changes to the border after WW2, many Poles moved from Lviv to Wroclaw. The new flights will thus give people living in Poland the chance to see the very city that was once an important part of the country.
