Nietota, one of the best spots on Wrocław's nightlife map, has been further enriched by the addition of 'Tota', a neighboring extension offering breakfast dishes, sandwiches and snacks both throughout the day and well into the night.
First set up ten years ago in Zakopane, Nietota successfully made the move to Wroclaw back in 2011. Since then the bar's truly spellbinding interior has played host to numerous performances from talented artists, as well as countless sets from the city's most exuberant DJs.
This characteristic venue's name 'Nietota' means nothing in neither English nor Polish. Once split into 'nie to ta' however, the name effectively translates as 'this is not'. 'Nietota' is also the title of a novel written by Polish author Tadeusz Miciński, who was presumably looking to put his finger on a quirky yet catchy name too.
The detail in Nietota's walls and ceilings is truly something behold – especially considering the trend for new venues to open with a rather barren urban and contemporary look. The bar is undoubtedly a feast for the eyes, with colourful imagery all over the shop.
This unique look and feel makes Nietota an ideal place to converse over a beer, or even just a enjoy a coffee now that they are open early.
If variety is your thing, the drinks selection here will definitely resonate. Beer lovers can enjoy various Czech lagers and local Polish brews, as well as Belgian fruit beers. There are also plenty of refreshing cocktails and alternative soft drinks to choose from.
Ever since bursting onto the scene in Wrocław, Nietota has placed itself well within the hearts of the city's party dwellers – particularity those seeking an escape from the mundane commercial venues of Pasaz Niepolda.
Each and every weekend eclectic groups of music lovers converge within Nietota's walls, dancing uncontrollably to genres from all sides of the musical spectrum. This anything goes attitude always makes for an entertaining evening, largely thanks to the various characters that fill up the dancefloor. Indeed, there can be no better example of this than one elusive ageing man, who regularly struts in for brief moments to overshadow his younger counterparts by pulling off dynamite moves – including the splits!
Keen to relieve the stress on the bar/club's crowded dancefloor, as well as widen their offering to include breakfasts and snacks, Nietota recently opened an extension that they fondly name 'Tota'. Embodying a similar style to its bigger brother next door, Tota shares a familiar if not slightly more chilled vibe.
Open from 10am Monday to Saturday, Tota's breakfast menu includes items such as the French toast and warm croissant photographed below. If that doesn't float your boat, you can also tuck into different varieties of scrambled eggs or order one of their toasted sandwiches.
From afternoon till late, the kitchen switches to its evening menu featuring hummus, mini toasts, panini's and salads, as well as selections of cured meats and quality cheeses. You can still order your grub when the party is in full swing – ideal if you're craving that little something to eat in order to get you back into the business of partying.
Needless to say then, Nietota is one of our recommended venues. With its free entrance policy, great music and vibrant atmosphere, there's not too many venues in the city that can offer as good a nightlife experience as this.
