With so many new trendy venues opening up in Wrocław, it's easy to forget the about the charms of a no nonsense Polish restaurant such as Kuźnia Dobrych Klimatów.
You won't find any halloumi cheese or sundried tomatoes in this classic eatery, but you can enjoy a satisfying Polish meal without breaking the bank. Dishes here come in big portions for prices between 12-24zl, making this place an ideal spot for anyone on a budget.
The interior has stayed the same for as long as we can remember, with the original brick walls and sturdy wooden furniture standing the test of time. In summertime the restaurant's thick walls help to keep out the heat, while in winter months an old wooden fire burns away to heat up the room and warm cold hearts.
As well as serving up Polish classics like pierogi, bigos and kotlet schabowy, Kuźnia also do a number of great Czech themed dishes such as goulash with dumplings (photographed above) and fried cheese with chips.
The house speciality however, has to be the monstrous goulash stuffed inside a large potato pancake. Arguably the best 'placek po wegiersku' in the city, this stomach filling dish will go down a treat with anyone feeling especially ravenous.
While Kuźnia might fall short when it comes to variation or innovation in the menu, you simply can't gripe too much about the classic dishes they knock up day in day out. So if you're into Polish food and grown tired of going to the likes of Kurna Chata, be sure to pay this place a visit.
